This month we are highlighting our Design Awards Committee. The Design Awards Committee is tasked with some of the greatest responsibilities of our chapter committees. This committee runs the chapter’s Design Awards program as well as plans and produces the annual Design Awards Celebration in June.
The Design Awards requires a robust committee to plan and execute both the awards process and the event itself. This is an exciting committee which offers leadership development and creative expression to accomplish AIA Rochester’s signature annual event. The committee meets as needed from August – January with a concentration from January – June. Committee meetings are currently held virtually each Friday morning from 8-9 a.m.
The committee is in immediate need of additional help from now through mid-June to help with the planning of the Design Awards Celebration at the MAG on June 15 and periphery events. Our 2023 Director of Practice + Design Christina Fluman, Associate AIA chairs this committee, which is currently comprised of Danielle Rupert, Lisa Fingar, and Adam Badura and is assisted by AIA Rochester Associate Director Michelle Murnane. We invite all firms to please encourage a volunteer to join the committee to help spread the workload. Committee membership is open to both members and non-members alike.
