AIA Rochester annually recognizes an Emerging Rochester Architect of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Partner of the Year. As nominations warrant, AIA Rochester may also award a Medal of Distinction, which is the highest honor the chapter may confer on a member. See the list of past winners here.

Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS), founded by The American Institute of Architects, is a premier leadership experience that brings together the industry’s largest network of women who are breaking down barriers, making themselves visible, and manifesting the careers they want—while making a difference in the world.
Recipients will receive the following:

Registration Fee: $800

Two Nights in an AIA designated hotel; not to exceed $250.00 per night

Travel Stipend: $200.00
Eligibility

Membership with AIANYS of at least one year

Involvement in local chapters’ Women in Architecture Committee it helpful but not required

One recipient per chapter, per year

Applicants must have renewed their AIA membership for the following year

Funds two AIANYS members (licensed under ten years) to attend the AIA National Convention.

Travel Stipend: $200.00 (Note: For the 2025 conference, if recipient is driving, mileage will be reimbursed at a rate of $0.70/mile to a maximum of $200.)

This scholarship is intended to recognize Associate AIA members in New York State who have made significant contributions at an early stage in their careers to the profession and to encourage their pursuit of licensure. Scholarship recipients will receive a one-time reimbursement for the cost of passing each single division of the ARE.
Who can apply?

Actively participating Associate AIA Member, in good standing, of an AIA New York State Chapter

NCARB Record holder in good standing. Applicant’s NCARB Record Number must be provided for verification purposes.

Passed one or more of the divisions of the ARE within the past year. Candidate’s most recent Authorization to Test form must be submitted as verification.

The RAF fosters awareness of architecture and its impact on the Rochester community. We achieve this by funding outreach projects that promote the contributions of students, professionals, and quality design. Our key areas of focus are education, arts and culture, and design.
The Construction Specification Institute (CSI) is a technical organization that works to organize, standardize, and communicate construction information. CSI is unique in that it facilitates an exchange of information between all participants in the construction process - a benefit not found in one-discipline organizations.
The CDR promotes the creation of vibrant, equitable, and resilient communities by engaging, educating, and empowering stakeholders in crafting purposeful design.
High school students in the Rochester area benefit from a nationwide program designed to introduce them to the wide range of career opportunities open to young people in architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the building design and construction industry.
