Town of Irondequoit Community Center 

Enjoy a first look at the new Town of Irondequoit Community Center in a tour led by Project Managers David Phelps II, AIA and Ryan Zegarelli, AIA.

In 2019, the residents of the Town of Irondequoit approved a referendum to build out a portion of the abandoned Irondequoit Mall (now named Skyview on the Ridge) for a new community center. The community center will provide a space for community members of all ages to gather, exercise and relax. Spaces include a lounge, cafeteria, teen space, fitness room, gymnasium, indoor turf area and more.  

Learning Objectives:    

*   Learn how the design team met the towns programmatic requirements at fit them in the designated location within the mall      

*   Learn how the structure (developer code minimum) was modified to accommodate the new program.      

*   Learn how the design team assisted the town with meeting and coordinating the mall developer’s requirements.      

*   Learn how the architectural design responded to some of the unique design elements of the existing mall.
