Breathing Surfaces
BRAZILIAN ARCHITECTURE, 1930-1950
Brazilian architect and historian. Moreira’s area of interest lies in the theory and history of architecture and the history of modern urbanism, with a focus on Brazil and Latin America. The Breathing Surfaces: Brazilian Architecture lecture focuses on Modern Architecture in Brazil, more specifically the high-rise building facades in Rio de Janeiro and the use of elements such as cobogo, a type of hollow brick wall originally made from concrete, later made in ceramic and other materials that is used as a skin on vertical surfaces.
