Over the past decade, the collaboration between the Chili Fire Department and the architectural team has reshaped the department’s infrastructure significantly. This enduring partnership has led to a remarkable overhaul of their headquarters, prominently marked by the creation of a new fire station, Company 1, with a modern front office. The project delves into the core of each space's purpose.

The volunteer lounge fosters unity and camaraderie among the firefighting team; it symbolizes support and solidarity, offering a space for those dedicated to community service. Similarly, the meeting room becomes a dynamic hub for community engagement and collaborative discussions.

Addressing the site's specific challenges was a critical aspect of this project. The former buildings suffered from disconnection, structural decay, leaks, and the presence of asbestos. These issues demanded comprehensive solutions that went beyond constructing new spaces. The design team’s approach was geared towards not only rectifying these immediate concerns but also ensuring long-term sustainability and functionality.

Integrated into the site's design, steel fragments sourced from Ground Zero pay tribute to the invaluable role of first responders in the tragedies of September 11, 2001. These elements stand as silent yet powerful reminders, seamlessly woven into the architecture, symbolizing resilience and dedication within the project's fabric.
