Candidates who are currently enrolled in an architectural program will learn and practice daily activities while assisting project teams. Activities include continuing the design process by assisting with technical drawings, sketching and rendering. Coordinating with team members to complete existing condition documentation, and field measuring as well as assisting in producing graphic materials.


Candidates will also be introduced to areas of project development to start or continue NCARB’s AXP Experience program before their college graduation.



Candidates with 0-3 years experience that will learn and practice daily activities for creating project plans, specifications, technical drawings, sketches, renderings, existing conditions drawings, field measuring, and code analysis. 


Candidates will be exposed to all areas of project development that are required to complete NCARB’s AXP Experience program to become eligible for licensure.



Candidates with 3-7 years experience will be responsible for creating the complete architectural package of drawings, specifications, code compliance plans, details, cost estimates, and project designs. 


The role involves working with a team that includes a project manager, drafters and designers and engineering consultants. 


Successful candidates will be involved in schematic designs through the completion of construction and will help the team to maintain project schedule and quality control.



Candidates with 7 or more years experience will be responsible for the overall design and management of multiple projects.


This includes communications with clients, oversight and management of the Architectural team and all of the project consultants from engineers to contractors.


Successful candidates will work with clients to maintain budgets and schedules, coordination of meetings and submission of projects through public agencies.

Bero Architecture is seeking qualified candidates for an Architectural Associate position with our firm. This position is for an unlicensed architecture school graduate or recent graduate with 1-3 years of previous experience in an architecture office.


·     Annual compensation range: $50,000 - $55,000

·     Full-time position: 40 hours per week (paid hourly)

·     Paid holiday (6), vacation (12), and sick (5) days

·     Field measure and prepare base drawings from field notes.

·     Develop design and technical solutions under supervision of project architect.

·     Work with associate and senior staff to develop drawings, research materials and detailing.

·     Assist with the development and editing of construction documents under the supervision of project architect.

·     Assist with contract administration duties under the supervision of an architect including attending project progress meetings, preparing draft meeting minutes, preliminary review of submittals, and drafting responses to RFI’s and change requests.

·     Interact with contractors under the supervision of an architect.


·     Working with senior staff on building evaluations to develop an understanding of historic construction assemblies and building science.

·     Working with senior staff on historic preservation planning projects including historic tax credits, national register nominations, historic resource surveys, and preservation advocacy.

·     Working with design staff on firm marketing materials, graphic design, and public presentations.


·     BS in Architecture, B-Arch, or M-Arch from an NAAB Accredited Architecture School

·     Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required.

·     Experience with Autodesk Revit, Trimble Sketchup, Rendering plugins, and/or Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is a plus.
