Architect / Designer / Project Manager

 

We’re looking for an Architect or designer and project manager to join our small, imaginative design team in Farmington, NY. This role will include the design, drafting and documentation of custom-residential and small commercial, high-performance projects in various states around the country. You will manage and design your own projects with assistance from the Design Manager. You will develop design concepts, as well as manage client communications, schedules and deliverables for those projects. There is the potential to grow into project procurement, client/project initiation, and design-lead responsibilities depending on the applicant’s qualifications.

 

Expectations include meeting strict deadlines, taking diligent notes during meetings, setting up project files, gathering zoning/site information, developing designs based on meeting notes, creating strong presentation visuals, drafting construction drawings that match our performance values, as well as communicating effectively with clients. Quick learning, adaptability, and the ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, supportive environment is a must. We’re looking for someone who requires minimal training in Revit and drafting and can jump right into our workflow, eventually operating semi-independently as one of our lead project designers.

 

Required Education:

  • Four-year Degree or higher in Architecture or related field

 

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 Years of experience in an architectural setting

  • Ability to use Autodesk Revit to model and complete construction drawings

  • Basic skill in Microsoft Word and Excel (other MS Office programs a plus)

  • Strong Written and Verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage and communicate effectively with clients and coworkers

  • Ability to juggle multiple project deadlines


Preferred Experience:

  • 3-7 Years of experience in an architectural setting

  • Experience managing small to medium architectural projects

  • Experience in residential design and/or high-performance design

  • Experience using Enscape for rendering

  • Passion for sustainability and building science

Wegmans is seeking a VDC/BIM Administrator, who will partner with Development Group management, users, and business partners to manage the development, oversight, and quality control of central BIM Libraries used throughout the organization. This position utilizes their knowledge and expertise to ensure all data inputs are captured and that standards and best practices are followed.

 

What will I do?

• Be a subject matter expert for BIM libraries and content standards; support, educate and advise internal business partners

• Assist with development, management, and maintenance of BIM libraries; maintain library and application standards documentation; share knowledge of standards with others

• Maintain, update, create, and control quality of BIM library content; gather information to ensure updates to central libraries

• Manage and monitor content created by internal and external modelers and content developers; review and audit invoices

• Collaborate with project teams on policies, processes, and standards; review equipment model documents and BIM deliverables for accuracy; collaborate with A/E Consultants to ensure the object library is maintained with updates and accurate data

• Stay on top of industry trends, evolving technologies and methods; identify and initiate continuous improvements

• Monitor BIM applications, including Revit models, and EAM data; ensure accurate data management across systems

 

Required Qualifications

• 2 or more years’ experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or with production modeling/detailing using 3D model objects

• Proficiency using Revit model authoring software

• Verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using model viewing, authoring, rendering, analysis and library management tools (ex. Navisworks, Enscape, Unifi, Dynamo, CTC tools, Bluebeam, BIM 360, SolidWorks, Inventer)

• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary project team

Candidates who are currently enrolled in an architectural program will learn and practice daily activities while assisting project teams. Activities include continuing the design process by assisting with technical drawings, sketching and rendering. Coordinating with team members to complete existing condition documentation, and field measuring as well as assisting in producing graphic materials.

 

Candidates will also be introduced to areas of project development to start or continue NCARB’s AXP Experience program before their college graduation.

 

PROJECT DESIGNER

Candidates with 0-3 years experience that will learn and practice daily activities for creating project plans, specifications, technical drawings, sketches, renderings, existing conditions drawings, field measuring, and code analysis. 

 

Candidates will be exposed to all areas of project development that are required to complete NCARB’s AXP Experience program to become eligible for licensure.

 

PROJECT ARCHITECT

Candidates with 3-7 years experience will be responsible for creating the complete architectural package of drawings, specifications, code compliance plans, details, cost estimates, and project designs. 

 

The role involves working with a team that includes a project manager, drafters and designers and engineering consultants. 

 

Successful candidates will be involved in schematic designs through the completion of construction and will help the team to maintain project schedule and quality control.

 

PROJECT MANAGER

Candidates with 7 or more years experience will be responsible for the overall design and management of multiple projects.

 

This includes communications with clients, oversight and management of the Architectural team and all of the project consultants from engineers to contractors.

 

Successful candidates will work with clients to maintain budgets and schedules, coordination of meetings and submission of projects through public agencies.
